Cindy Whitehouse has more than twenty years experience in case management, worker’s compensation, and the managed care industry. Cindy attended Mississippi College where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She began her career as an intensive care nurse then worked in public health. In 1991, she became a case manager in Nashville, TN. Throughout her managed care tenure, she has held positions including: Case Manager, Supervisor, Regional Manager and she served as an Executive Vice President before founding Ascential Care.

Cindy is regarded in the industry for her innovative ideas, integrity, teamwork, creativity, and vision. Her enthusiasm for service to others is evident in her work with Ascential Care, as well as her personal commitment to nonprofit organizations and charities. In addition to her volunteer work, Cindy enjoys time with her family, traveling, and cooking.

Richard Leonardo joined Ascential Care in 2017 as Chief Executive Officer. Rich provides strategic direction and oversight for the systemic growth of the business' current and emerging product offerings, as well as information technology, finance, sales, legal and human resources functions.

Recognized in the property and casualty market for his leadership and expertise, Leonardo brings more than 20 years of experience in business development, client relations and operations to Ascential’s leadership team, including extensive experience in executive management positions. Leonardo has a track record of success in leading companies to growth through well organized and established sales programs leveraging organizational strengths, sales executive development and leadership.

In the past, Rich has served as Chief Sales Officer with HealthCare Solutions where he was responsible for managing the company’s sales, marketing and account management strategies. Prior to HealthCare Solutions, Leonardo served in an executive capacity at Medical Consultants Network (MCN), Express Scripts and FairPay Solutions. In each of these positions, Rich led the organizations through periods of rapid growth by applying his expertise in sales and account management, organizational design, and process management and improvement. Leonardo offers a consultative, solutions-based approach to client development that works to identify solutions based on customer needs and goals. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in delivering solutions to help customers reduce medical expenses and improve operating efficiencies. Rich currently lives in Dallas, Texas with his family and enjoys running.

Beth has provided administrative management in the medical field for more than thirty years. She oversees the daily operations of Ascential Care's corporate office: including human resources, accounts payables and receivables, and referral intake. She sits on the local board of the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky. Some of her favorite activities include hiking, running, and biking.

Jana

Jana Aust, RN, BSN, CCM

Jana has been a Registered Nurse for twenty-eight years. She began her career in Public Health where she worked in home health, clinic and school nursing. Jana was involved in Health Education initiatives, which is how she became interested in wellness programs. Jana entered case management twenty years ago as an onsite case manager in middle TN. Following several years of onsite case management, Jana moved into a supervisory role and oversaw a case management team. During this time, Jana developed and implemented an internal continuing education program for all company employees. Before joining Ascential Care in 2012, Jana obtained a TN teaching license. Jana uses these skills to assist in hiring, training and mentoring Ascential Care’s case management teams. Jana is passionate about providing a fresh multifaceted approach to case management.

A seasoned leader with a deep background in the healthcare world, Jack’s background makes him uniquely suited for his work at Ascential Care. Jack has more than 35 years of experience in healthcare related work including case management and rehabilitation. He got his start at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, earning his B.A. in Psychology and his M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling. Jack has over 30 years of experience in administrative leadership. He previously worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as the administrator in several areas, including Corporate Health, Orthopedics and Physical Medicine, and Rehabilitation. Jack’s prestigious background in strategic development, customer relations, and business development are a strong asset to Ascential Care as well as its leadership team.

“I am proud to be a part of Ascential Care. Not only are we on the forefront of combating the opioid epidemic; we are changing the managed care industry through innovative use of technology to bridge the communication gap between patients and health care providers.”
Bridget Pitcock has been a nurse for more than 6 years. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing after completing an intensive, accelerated 2nd degree program at Bellarmine University. Bridget began her career as an Intensive Care nurse in the Neurosurgical ICU at the University of Louisville Hospital (Trauma I) where she handled medically complex, traumatic, and catastrophic injuries. Seeking to diversify her skill set, Bridget left her hospital to practice home health. As a home health nurse, Bridget treated patients in diverse settings and honed her patient advocacy skills. In 2012, she joined Ascential Care as a case manager and earned her CCM certification in 2014. As a case manager, Bridget was known for her tenacious healthcare advocacy and collaboration with physicians. She was instrumental in building awareness for opioid drug abuse and developing case management techniques to combat opioid addiction. Bridget also served Ascential Care as a Sales Manager, assisting in business development, servicing, and event management. As Chief of Staff and in collaboration with CEO Cindy Whitehouse, Bridget orchestrates projects critical to the success of Ascential Care. With her practical medical experience and knowledge of case management, Bridget provides critical input to the CEO and executive staff in their approach to issues and opportunities in the healthcare industry, business development, case management, and sales and marketing. She has successfully trained nurse case managers and supervisory staff in new technology, incorporating iPads, applications, and other software programs. A two-time Ironman and marathoner, Bridget enjoys endurance sports. Always an advocate, Bridget is “mom” to three rescued pitbulls. She has also volunteered with various organizations including Remote Area Medical, the Powered with Pride 5K, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Saving Sunny, Inc.
